Sunday, January 6 – Day 4
So far my experience with Whole30 has been full of ups and downs, and Day 4 was no different. The day started out great, with a awesome new idea for eggs, a cup of tea and a little research. Then we headed to a friends for some Sunday football. And you know what football means– food, lots of food.
Wings, chips, dip… the list goes on. The food would have tested my self control on a normal day– not to mention the alcohol– but throw in Whole30 and I felt like a recovering addict right in the middle of my demise. Luckily J and I thought ahead and brought our left over chili from the night before. This was great because we still felt like part of the group and could have something to eat, but we were sticking to the Whole30 guidelines.
After a few games we headed home to do a few chores around the house, cook dinner and prepare for another week of work. We found a delicious and easy chicken and sweet potato recipe, which I will be sharing soon.
Two more ups occurred on Day 4. First, I found out that I can have coffee-sound the alarms!! I just need to make sure that the ingredients comply with the Whole30 and can only use coconut or almond milk in it. Secondly, I bought It Starts with Food: Discover the Whole30 and Change Your Life in Unexpected Ways a book by Melissa and Dallas Hartwig, the founders of Whole30. I’ve only just begun the book, but I am so bought it! I’ll keep you posted on any new and interesting facts I find!
