A few weeks ago while I was shopping I came across a funky set of neon dipped serving spoons. While I thought the spoons were awesome and would add a cool flair to our kitchen, the price tag held me back, especially because after about two seconds I realized that they would be so easy to make on my own. A little paint, some wooden spoons from the dollar store and I would be in business. So last weekend I decided to take a stab at this quick and easy DIY. I have to say I was really impressed with how they turned out!
With Mother’s Day right around the corner I think these hand painted serving spoons would also make a thoughtful Mother’s Day gift! You can even customize the colors and design!
Directions:
- Fold the tin foil into a small bowl.
- Fill the tin foil bowls with each different color of paint.
- Paint the handle of each wooden spoon with the acrylic paint.
- Let dry and then add another coat of paint. Repeat until the handle is well coated.
- Place the spoons on the wax paper and let dry for 2-4 hours, or until paint is completely dry.
- Once the paint has dried completely, lightly coat with Mod Podge to seal.
- Let dry completely.
- Display!
Would try this funky DIY for your kitchen or give it as a gift?
