From the tried and true little black dress to a classic black pump, there are a number of basic pieces that every lady should have in her closet. These pieces work together season after season to create chic, classic looks that never go out of style or they can be paired with on trend pieces to create a more contemporary feel.
I compiled some of my closet staples above. You will notice that the majority of the pieces I have chosen are either black or another neutral shade. This makes them the perfect backbone to any outfit. Add a bit of sparkle and color with a statement necklace or a bold bag.
It is important to remember that these are the pieces you will have for years to come, so don’t be afraid to spend a little more on good quality piece that will last.
