The world is a beautiful place.
I dream about traveling the world on a daily basis. Paris, Santorini, the Amalfi Coast, Belize, you name it and it’s on my list. However sometimes I get so wrapped up in planning trips around the world, I forget about the beauty in my own (figurative) back yard. The Northeast is full of hidden and not-so-hidden gems, many of them a quick car or ferry ride away. Sometimes I take the beauty of the Northeast for granted and forget that people come from all over the world to experience what I am lucky enough to call home every single day.
This weekend we decided to embrace the warm weather and take a trip over to Newport for the day. All we packed were a few compliant snacks to keep us satisfied, and a bone for Charlie before hitting the road. We had a blast exploring the town, eating lunch by the water and soaking in some sun on this beautiful little jetty. Charlie especially enjoyed his first trip to the beach by digging in the rocks and testing out the pools of water.
Since the day trip involved a lot of walking and playing in the sun, I kept things functional with a pair of shorts and a fun tank top. My Category 5 were comfortable for a day of walking and kept me safe on the slippery rocks. And Charlie channeled his inner preppy pup while strutting his stuff in his new Uncommon Paws collar and leash- all the ladies loved him.
