Living in New England, my boat shoes are on high rotation in summer months. Unfortunately, that means that every spring I take on the unpleasant task of breaking them in for the upcoming season. Can you say blisters?
When I stumbled upon Category 5 last summer I was pleased to learn that they were designed to be a more comfortable and durable option than what is currently on the market. No more brutal break-in period and short life span for your favorite summer shoes. Unfortunately, they were only making men’s shoes at the time. But alas, they have introduced a women’s option and I picked up my own pair as soon as they hit the (virtual) shelves!
Like Category 5 promises, there is no brutal break-in period with these babies. From the second I put them on my feet have been in heaven. In fact I have worn them almost seven days in a row and there’s not one blister in sight! And while comfort is important, we are talking about shoes – which means style is key! Just look at that detail, not only in the leather and stitching, but I was even able to personalize my pair with my sorority letters- perfection. These kicks have now taken a permanent front row seat on my shoe rack (when I’m not wearing them of course).
