Can we just pause for one moment to recognize that it is already August 1st? Oh boy how time flies. While some people may be a little disappointed this morning that we are already entering into the month of August, I could not be more excited. That’s because in just over a week, J and I are heading to Chi-town to visit one of my best friends!
That’s right we’re flying over to the Windy City to spend three full days with A! I could not be more excited. On top of all of the sightseeing and catching up we have planned, I am also looking forward to meeting her boyfriend “hot-rod” (for obvious reasons this nick name was too good not to share).
We don’t have our itinerary down just yet but I’m hoping to visit the bean, stroll along the lakes and throw caution to the wind and try a slice of Chicago’s famous deep dish! We’ll also be heading to a dive bar for a good old fashion country concert (hence the cowboy boots above).
Since our only real plans are to go with the flow and have a good time, I will be packing staple pieces that can be mixed and matched, like thisĀ white tee, polka dot shorts and neutral sandals. I also think this woven tote would work well as both a carry-on and a beach bag. It’s all about versatility folks!
Have you ever visited Chi-town? What are you favorite tourist musts and secret spots?
