Now that the warm weather is here to stay, it is time to hit up your local farmer’s market for fresh fruits and veggies. Just think of all of the pretty instagram pictures waiting for you when you come home with a bag full of bright colored berries!
Bringing your own tote bag is a great way to avoid juggling an arm full of apples, plus it helps cut down the use of plastic bags for every piece of fruit you buy. I love any excuse to buy a new bag. So when I started to make the farmer’s market a weekly stop, I knew I would need a designated “Farmer’s Market Tote.” I find that a tote bag works best because it is large enough to fit odd shaped vegetables but sturdy enough to carry a large haul. Then pick the material that works best for you, canvas is easy to clean and maintain, but woven bags breath well so your produce doesn’t overheat.
My personal favorite is the Striped Transport Tote from Madewell. I love the leather detailing (which guarantees a sturdy base and straps) and the cotton panels make it easy to clean and maintain. Plus this tote would be the perfect compliment to any outfit!
