Finding an easy snack that is packaged for on the go consumption is a challenging part of eating paleo. We want to eat healthy, clean foods, but sometimes we don’t have the time to prepare a meal between work, meetings and the gym. Thats when I reach for a Larabar.
No, Larabars were not gathered by our ancestors, but the ingredients in them were. The majority of Larabars are made only from fruits and nuts. For example, the Apple Pie LaraBar– a personal favorite– is made from just six simple ingredients, dates, almonds, apples, walnuts, raisins and cinnamon.
I would definitely avoid the bars that contain peanuts and other non-paleo ingredients, but when your on the go or stuck in a situation where your tempted to eat non-paleo snack, a Larabar is a great alternative to have on hand!
