One of the most common misconceptions about eating paleo is that it is expensive. Buying grass-fed meat and organic produce can add up, but it is important to shop smart and know when to buy the less expensive option.
Above is a list of the fruits and vegetables that tend to have the highest levels of pesticide residue (even after being washed and peeled) and thus should be purchased as organic produce. On the other had, the second (longer) list includes produce with the least amount of pesticide contamination found and are thus not as high of a priority when buying organic.
Ultimately, the next time you are at the market, make the decisions that are best for you (and your wallet), but I hope these lists help you navigate the produce with a little added confidence.
