If if does not challenge you, it will not change you.
About three months ago I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and joined CrossFit Coolidge Corner (CFCC). It was one of the best decisions I have made this year. In fact, I actually look forward to working out now because I see myself getting stronger each week. I have a coach in my corner every step of the way, helping to correct movements when needed and encouraging me to push my limits (safely). It’s like having a personal training by your side every time you work out.
I am also loving the sense of the community that comes with being a member of the crossfit family. I have enjoyed meeting some truly inspiring people and have made great friends with similar health and fitness goals. As a former lacrosse player and cheerleader, I know that you get closer to accomplishing your goals when you have a team behind you to support you along the way, and that is exactly what I have found at CFCC.
Now I have decided to take things a step further and am taking part in the Spring 2014 Whole Life Challenge. The Whole Life Challenge is an eight-week health and fitness challenge that asks each contestant to evaluate every aspect of their life and change (or add) the habits they need to live a healthier life. This means that I will be eating strictly paleo and incorporating exercise, mobility and other lifestyle changes into my daily routine for the next 56 days. I am looking forward to continuing to eat clean, train hard and focus on other lifestyle changes I have been looking to make (like drinking more water, and meditating). The challenge starts tomorrow and I’m excited to have the CFCC community (and J, of course) behind me the whole way!
