A reader commented on a post last week and asked, “When it comes to the weekend and it’s time to go out with friends and drink, what drinks do you usually stick to while trying to maintain an at least somewhat “clean” diet?”
Well, right off the bat I can tell you, alcohol is not “Paleo.” However, we’re not saints and we all like to let our hair down, have a little fun and enjoy ourselves once in a while. I mean let’s be honest, I like to hit the town with my friends and have a good time, so while I’m generally pretty good about sticking to the rules and eating clean, I make exceptions when it comes to drinking and having a good time on Friday night.
That being said, some drinks are definitely more “paleo friendly” than others — below is a chart designed to help you navigate the bar.
I personally opt for a vodka-soda (cliche, I know) with lime, and I do my best to use potato vodka when it’s available.
