If you are short on time but looking for a healthy breakfast or a snack, I’ve got a super easy way to eat clean in a crunch.
Making a smoothie in the morning is already pretty quick and easy, but you can make the process even quicker by preparing smoothie cubes in advance. Prepare your favorite smoothie as you normally would, pour it into an ice cube tray and place in the freezer for 4-5 hours, or until solid. Remove the smoothie cubes from the tray and store them in an airtight container in the freezer.
Next time you need you’re craving a smoothie or need a quick bite, take out the smoothie cubes and blend them to create a a tasty beverage that is perfect for taking on the go. No planning or measuring required!
Make a variety of smoothie cube batches in advance so that you always have them on hand and can switch up the flavor based on your preference each day!
Another option to help speed up your smoothies is to combine your favorite smoothie ingredients in a plastic bag, in advance. Add about a cup of your favorite frozen fruit, a banana and four ice cubes into a sandwich size plastic bag. Squeeze out the air, zip it up and toss it in the freezer for later. Then when you are ready to whip up a smoothie, add the bag full of frozen fruit to the blender with a cup of coconut milk.
