One of the hardest things about going paleo, especially if you are going from eating whatever you want to eating clean, is not eating foods with flour or wheat. You might not realize how many of your favorite things contain these ingredients! Before you give up or go back to your old habits, it’s important to know that there are a handful of substitutes the are perfect for cooking and baking. One of the most versatile and one of my favorites is almond flour/meal.
I actually prefer almond flour to all purpose flour in many of my recipes! It tastes great, is filled with protein, and I’ve found it is the most forgiving flour to bake with. So roll up your sleeves and try one of these yummy paleo recipes using almond flour:Chocolate-Hazelnut Thumbprints, Blueberry Muffins, Double Chocolate Chunk Biscotti, Banana Bread and, of course, Paleo Chicken Fingers!
