I am always searching for an easy paleo side dish to accompany dinner, and these mashed cauliflower certainly fit the bill! With only a handful of ingredients and the same amount of steps, mashed cauliflower is a quick and easy side dish that pairs well with almost every meal. Plus, mashed cauliflower has an uncanny resemblance to mashed potatoes in both look and taste!
Growing up mashed potatoes were my all time favorite foods. There was something inherently comforting about buttery dish that made me happy. While these faux potatoes may not be mom’s recipe, they sure do a pretty good job at fooling my taste buds!
Mashed Cauliflower

Ingredients
- 1 large head of cauliflower
- 5 large cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons grassfed butter
- Salt
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Trim a large head of cauliflower and cut up into florets
- Salt liberally and steam the cauliflower florets in the microwave or on the stove until soft
- Add in the garlic
- Drain the cauliflower florets in a colander
- Add all of the ingredients to a blender or food processor (including more salt and pepper) and combine until smooth
