Fall is my favorite, especially when it comes to food. While pumpkin may be the unofficial flavor of fall, I prefer to stick to the classics. That why you may have noticed a bunch of apple inspired recipes making an appearance on the blog.
A few weeks ago we went apple picking and left with a tote full of apples. I love apples, especially when they are covered in nut butter, but a giant bag of apple always seems a bit daunting. That is why the week after apple picking I like to whip up anything and everything apple. And when I run out of ideas, we make apple sauce.
A baked apple is also a good standby when you are looking for a quick and simple treat! This recipe combines a traditional baked apple with a crumble topping that is similar to my paleo apple crisp. This may not be the spookiest recipe for halloween, but it sure is delicious!
